Innovation in family businesses
Much research on business performance focuses explicitly on a limited set of commonly used performance indicators. As a result, many alternative metrics are overlooked – even though business leaders themselves may consider them more relevant. This approach often leads to companies being evaluated on the same basis, while in reality, very different goals can drive very different business decisions. From this perspective, this study analyses the various success metrics used by family and non-family businesses, and how these relate to other characteristics of the firm.
