Exemptions and transfers: Business Management with a major in Marketing
Here, you will find information on both exemptions in general and for exemptions in case of transfer from the KU Leuven BBA programme. You may be eligible for exemptions from prior education if you obtained relevant credits in other degree programmes.
Application procedure for exemptions in general
You may be eligible for exemptions from prior education if you obtained relevant credits in other degree programmes. Take the 3 steps below:

Contact your individual BBM learning path counsellor. You can find your coach here - below the page.

Allow 14 days from receipt of your full application, together with supporting paperwork, for processing.
- You need a pass-grade in all degree modules relating to your application for exemptions.
- Tolerances do not apply.
- Your academic qualification must be less than 5 years old.

STEP 3
You will be asked to provide documentation to support your credit application. All documents must be in English, French or Dutch. Any translations must be formally certified by the University.
You will need to provide in hard copy:- Evidence of modules completed and marks/ grades gained (usually a transcript)
- Evidence of the equivalency of the learning outcomes (for example a content list). Good quality copies or scanned versions may be used. Original documents are sent at the owner’s risk.
- You may need to include with your application the syllabi and exam papers for each module relevant to your application.

How to apply for exemptions if you are transferring from the BBA Programme at KU Leuven?

Attention
Please be aware that you will have to pay a tuition fee at both institutions if you register for course units at KU Leuven and Odisee. For each institution you will pay a fixed fee, as well as a variable fee per credit you registerfor.
At KU Leuven, non-EEA students temporarily residing in Belgium cannot register for a credit
How to cancel your registration for the BBA (KU Leuven)?
- Before 19 september 2023 (start of the academic year): cancellation is free.
- From 25 september 2023 onwards: the fixed fee will be charged. Depending on your exact deregistration date, a variable fee may apply as well. Please visit the Student Administration of KU Leuven campus Brussels in person.
- If you do plan to register for the BBM programme, do not re-register from the BBA.
How to transfer to the BBM programme
Students who want to transfer from BBA at KU Leuven to BBM at Odisee can register as students of the BBM degree programme before 10 October 2023.
If your secondary school diploma was not issued by the Flemish government, please follow the below procedure:
Apply for admission via the Odisee website: https://www.odisee.be/en/registration-non-flemish-diploma. As part of your application please upload the following documents:
- Both sides of your Belgian residence permit (non-EEA nationals) or your ID card (EEA nationals)
- Your original secondary school diploma (and the translation if applicable)
- Proof of English language proficiency if applicable (e.g. TOEFL/IELTS certificate)
- A motivation letter
- Your KU Leuven transcripts
If your secondary school diploma was issued by the Flemish government you can directly register online through the registration application: https://www.odisee.be/nl/inschrijven.
